About Us
Charles and Shannon Hicks graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1993. They started practicing in Palatka in 1994 at their current location. Their office philosophy is comprehensive dentistry. Hicks Dental places great emphasis on quality staff training and offers the latest technology for dental procedures.
Both dentists have completed the Patterson Dental Comprehensive Training in Cerec CAD-CAM Dentistry, the Southwest Center for Advanced Studies, and are members of The Academy of Computerized Dentistry of North America. Dr. Charles Hicks and his assistants have completed the Cerec Integration course from the Great Lakes Education Center as well. Hicks Dental has performed over 3,500 Cerec chairside restorations since 2004.
Hicks Dental offers a wide range of dental procedures including cosmetic dentistry such as smile makeovers in one visit, preventative and restorative dentistry, one-visit root canal therapy, Zoom 2 whitening, veneers, bridges, and single-visit crowns. The latest technology provided at our office is soft tissue laser procedures, digital x-rays (delivering less radiation than the traditional x-rays), digital photography, ZOOM 2, and the CEREC 3D crown milling machine.
Hicks Dental "caters to cowards." All of our treatment is designed to be virtually painless before, during, and after treatment. Our office provides permanent, predictable treatment designed to last the rest of your life. Most of our treatment can be accomplished in one to two visits to maximize the patient's time and we strive to always run on time.
Hicks Dental does not contract with any insurance plans. Our office feels dental treatment should be based on patient need and desire and not dictated by insurance companies.
We are dedicated to those who wish to keep their teeth for a lifetime in maximum comfort, aesthetics, and function. Routine dental care is essential to good overall health.
